       On June 2019 I visited Masai Mara National Reserve located in Narok County, Kenya.  I spent six nights at Mara Serena safari lodge and i must say it was quite impressive. 

Services 8/10  

  • Room service

On my first day, I was welcomed with a variety of freshly squeezed juices right before checking in.The lodge provided a porter that took my luggage to my room.All rooms were equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi. The lodge also had a gym and spa at the top floor with an amazing view of the game park.Staying at the hotel for 6 nights got me free daily laundry services by the lodge. Room service was quite slow though, a water bottle took close to 45 minutes.

I had booked a standard room and it was quite impressive. 
Opening the spacious balcony got me an infinity view of Maasai Mara and a pond where elephants were having water. The room was clean and tidy with comfy king size bed and a load of bathroom amenities.  I have no complaints at all about the room.  

Mara Serena offers a range of continental breakfast, lunch and dinner which was all included in my package with no extra cost (excluding drinks) . I am a pure vegetarian and I was surprised to get mouth-watering Indian cuisines.  The lodge went to an extent of hiring a Indian chef from the city for the six days of my stay which surprised me, having the opportunity to tell the chef what I fancy for my meal made me feel like home.

Value for money 9/10  

The standard room starts at KSH 17000 ($170) per room per night.   The room price is inclusive of everything mentioned above. There were no hidden costs at all at first, I thought the deal was too good to be true for extreme luxury in the middle of a game park and so I was expecting a huge bill during check out but no, Mara Serena safari lodge is definitely a Yes! For value of money.   I highly recommend couples going for honeymoon to visit Mara Serena safari lodge in Maasai Mara national reserve, Kenya.
